Breedekloof is where the adventure begins! If you are an adventurous spirit and like to experience adventure and nature, this is the place to explore
From sunup to sundowner, Breedekloof awaits you with... hiking, biking, horse riding, bird watching, trout fishing, 4x4trails, food, great hospitality and excellent wine to refresh the spirit!
Breedekloof is less than an hours drive from Cape Town, on the world-famous Route 62. Drive along the N1 from Cape Town, through the Huguenot tunnel. As you exit the tunnel and wind through the pass, the beautiful Breedekloof starts to unfold before your eyes.
Visit Breedekloof to entice your senses on the best the Cape Winelands has to offer - fine wine and mineral springs.
The area offers B&B accommodation, self-catering chalets, and camping. And for a night under the stars, or in a tent, there are venues situated on the banks of the Breede River.
Breedekloof encompasses the Goudini, Slanghoek, Breede River and Rawosnville areas and is one of the largest Western Cape wine producing valleys.
The French Huguenot descendant Pieter du Toit initially discovered the Breedekloof area when he established the first cattle post there in 1716. Part of the land within the Breedekloof area is known as Goudini, which is derived from the Khoi-San word meaning 'fragrant honey.´ It is from these influences, a blend of the Huguenot wine making heritage and the Khoi-San tribe´s harmony with nature, that it was inevitable that this area would come to offer a perfect blend of wine and outdoor adventure.
